Confirmation
Confirmation is an important milestone in the life of a young person. Our program reflects our belief that preparing to confess one’s personal faith is a significant endeavor that requires time and dedication. The two-year program includes the following components:
- Biblical education
- Information about what makes the Lutheran faith unique
- Weekend retreats in both years to build fellowship and dive deeper into topics of study
- Mission trip concentrated on service to the community – the most recent trip to Washington DC focused on the struggles of poverty and homelessness and included volunteer time at DC Central Kitchen
- Self-exploration, including analysis of personality type and spiritual gifts assessment
- Final project designed to allow students to creatively express their faith
The current class was confirmed in June and the new class will begin in September 2019. If you have a young person who will be entering the 7th or 8th grade in the fall, please contact Pastor Ward or Carol Schierlmann for more details or to express your interest in joining our next class.
