There are several opportunities for youth to participate in faith-based retreats throughout the year.
Contact Deloris Bainbridge for more information.
BYG (for grades 3-5) and BYGer (for grades 6-8) are led by Agape Kure Beach Ministries. Participants spend a weekend at the camp to lay a spiritual foundation.
YouthQuake is the NCSynod event for third through fifth graders. Each fall we join other youth from around North Carolina to participate in an afternoon of music, worship, fellowship, devotions, and fun.
The LYO in the NC Synod is open to all youth in grades 6-12. Once a year Lutheran youth across North Carolina gather for an assembly to spend time with each other. They join in small groups to build their relationships in Christ. The youth worship, sing, and study together throughout the weekend.
Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the ELCA gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spend in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives.
An important part of the Gathering’s ministry are the two pre-events: The Multicultural Youth Leadership Event (MYLE), a faith formation and leadership development event primarily for youth of color; and tAble, a gathering that brings together, blesses, and empowers youth with disabilities.
If you would like to get more information about any of these youth opportunities, please contact Deloris Bainbridge.
