– Proverbs 22:6
Here at Advent Lutheran, we believe that a relationship with God starts with the smallest of babies. In addition to offering biblical education, we believe that children should be integrated into the life of the church in meaningful ways. From music to worship, as children get older, they are offered more ways to contribute to the congregational life of Advent Lutheran. We want our children to be seen, heard and affirmed as beloved children of God.
In this spirit, while we have age appropriate classes, we also offer intergenerational opportunities throughout the year. This gives everyone a chance to interact together and learn as a faith family.
Godly Play
Each Sunday during the sermon, children are able to leave the sanctuary to participate in Godly Play. In Godly Play, the mission is to make meaning through story, wonder, and play; and to nurture spiritual lives by honoring the centrality, competency, and capacity of children. Godly Play contains the following components:
• Lighting the Candle & Liturgical Calendar
• Hearing the Story
• Wondering
• Work time
• Prayers
