Adventure Preschool offers a nurturing Christian environment where all are welcomed. We are a very diverse preschool with children from all over and from different religious backgrounds. We believe that children learn through play and using this philosophy we will help the children become prepared socially, emotionally, and academically before entering kindergarten. We hope to prepare them to be successful learners.
Our preschool is open 5 days a week from 9am-1pm, with 2-Day through 5-Day a Week options. We are located in University Area of Charlotte, NC and across from the UNCC campus.
Adventure Preschool has been in ministry since 2002. As the Director, I have seen many changes throughout the years. The preschool was developed by a church committee that was formed after the education wing and gymnasium were added on to the church and initially began as “Parent’s Morning Out” which offered a two day per week program. At that time the staff consisted of myself, one teacher and volunteers. The preschools first year had around twenty children that attended. As the years have gone by the preschool has continued its growth. In 2007 the preschool advisory board moved to change the program to Adventure Preschool and open all five days of the week. The preschool has grown so much over the years and served children from literally all over the world. We are a very diverse preschool and welcome all children with a roster of around seventy children. The staff and I are committed to providing a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for the children. We take great pride in our love for the children and what our program offers. It is truly very family oriented and we hope that each family sees that. We love watching the children grow and learn daily. It has been a honor and a pleasure serving this University community for the past seventeen years and we look forward to many more for the Adventure Preschool ministry.

Ms. Jennie and Ms. Kriston are our teachers for this class. They provide a wonderful environment for the children to play and grow socially and academically. This is typically a mixed age group which is well documented to be beneficial for all children. The teachers plan classroom activities around monthly themes that will engage all the children. Music, movement and art activities are always the favorites in this class.
Ms. Jeannie and Ms. Marola are the teachers in this classroom. They both have a lot of early childhood experience and share those gifts daily with the children. Each day the children are welcomed with table activities to get their day started. They are providing a developmentally appropriate setting for the chil-dren to learn and grow through play and multisensory experi-ences. They are learning their letters, shapes and colors and many other things. The teachers will also work with the parents as children begin to potty train or master potty training away from home. The teachers strive to make sure all children feel welcomed, loved and independent.
Ms. Stephanie G, Ms. Marie and Mr. Jake are our teachers for this class. This has typically been our three year old class that will be moving on up the following year to the graduating class. They provide wonderful opportunities daily to learn through play and hands on activities. The children are learning to write their own names and sign in daily. Each morning activities are set up on the tables that go along with current weekly or letter theme. The teachers are working really hard with the children on following directions and being able to sit for longer periods of time during project or circle time. This will help as they con-tinue to evolve and transition to the next classroom.
Ms. Stephanie and Ms. Lucy are the teachers for this classroom. This class is also known as the “Super Heros” class. This theme is used throughout the school year to teach the children how they can be a super hero every day by their own actions. A de-velopmentally appropriate environment is provided to foster learning and growth with the children. This classroom offers a self-management system that helps the children become more independent as they get ready for kindergarten. The children are engaged throughout the day in various learning opportunities. We love our science and multisensory experiments in this class-room too. We are helping to build the foundation for children to become successful Kindergartners and develop the love of learning.
