Love God, Serve Neighbor

We believe that Stewardship is the expression of our faith as we administer our lives and resources for God’s purposes. It is the wise management of who we are and all that we have.

Being a Christian steward involves not only the wise management of who we are and all that we have, but also the way we live our lives, the vocations we pursue, the priorities we establish and the manner in which we utilize God’s generous blessings.

We also believe that we need to be good stewards of the Earth, because we simply cannot survive without it. “The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to till it and keep it.” - Genesis 2:15

Disciples for God's Creation - Our Bodies

Genesis 1:26 - "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness..."

How can we serve others if we don't take care of ourselves?

In 2013, Advent began a partnership with Carolina's Health System to create a Health Ministry. The Advent Health Ministry's mission is to educate the congregation and encourage lifestyle changes to promote wellness: for a healthy body, mind and spirit. Motto: God created us, Jesus saved us, and the Holy Spirit swells in us.

The Health Ministry Team promotes individual and group challenges to involve members: in eating right, getting enough exercise, and staying involved in social activities. All of these initiatives are meant to help us live abundantly.

Stewards of our Resources

We, at Advent, believe that we are stewards of God's resources because He is the owner of all that we have. Throughout the Scripture, we are reminded of the importance of giving back a tenth of what God has generously given us. We believe that with God, there is as much receiving as giving. Let us be grateful for the resources He has entrusted to us.
